EOP was the stepping stone I needed to get acclimated to college life, and when I think about college life as a whole EOP was the one thing that was consistent from year to year. EOP brings many memories and the first one I would like to share is the time and dedication that EOP put into my journey as a freshman. When I was in my freshman year of college on my own in a new place not knowing too much about college like what major I wanted to study, dorm placement, or the financial aid office EOP was the information center of the campus. The EOP office operates through appointments but whether students have appointments or not counselors always seemed to make time. The greatest thing about EOP counselors is that they never pointed you in the right direction and told you what to do. EOP counselors always showed their dedication to me as a student by getting on the phone and getting someone whether it was in the financial aid office or the dorms to help with my specific problem. In their hard work and efforts EOP at CSUSM in particular showed me the importance of building and keeping relationships and going the extra mile to help people around me. EOP also taught me the value of understanding your passions enough to allow that to guide you in college.
