Linnette’s Message:
Community, empowerment, and adventure. These three simple words narrow down my experience and story when EOP comes to my mind. My support network in the CSUN EOP community is so strong and close knitted that they can be considered my second family. I can go to any of the EOP Advisors that I have for empowerment and encouragement to do better. Everything I have done up till now has been an adventure and still is.
My biggest accomplishment was when I recently received a Certificate of Recognition from the Board of the City of Los Angeles, along with a Medal for “30 Under 30 Most Powerful Interns”. In addition, I received a nomination for a scholarship of $6,000, including a $3,000 grant. I have also earned spots in Pepperdine University in Malibu, California and the University of Southern California in Los Angeles for their M.B.A dual programs after graduation.
I probably would not have reached this point without being an EOP student. Thanks to EOP I was able to build my connection with my EOP Advisor who recommended me for the program that gave me all these opportunity.
For future EOP students I would advise, never be afraid of who you are, because being who you are will help you gain the people that will be close to you now and in the future. Build connections that will be long lasting, which I learned when I made my best friends, Jen and Donna.
