Moving to a new town, being financially independent, and having little to no knowledge about college life was overwhelming for me. I also did not know what I wanted to do with my life. There was only one thing I knew for a fact; college would be the only way out of my tragic stricken past. I knew I had to succeed in college. I wanted to find a strong support group at Fresno State and EOP exceeded my expectations. Although I only attended three counseling visits in a semester (per EOP requirements), I retained more knowledge and received more help about college than I had ever imagined. EOP has been an exceptional help to me in college.

Even though I work thirty hours a week, I flourished in school because EOP helped me to exceed at time management. I also had the assistance in finding out what I really wanted to study in college. EOP has also introduced me to the Renaissance Program, since I was under guardianship. I was helped with applying to the Renaissance Program and was so elated when I got in. I knew I finally found a support group that I can call family. My thoughts were confirmed when I attended LINK over the summer. I was able to connect to other students that have been through similar situations as me. I want everyone to know EOP is a haven, providing useful information that will help you to acclimate to college and continue to succeed with the years to follow.
