Jasmine’s Message:
My name is Jasmine Jacquez, I’m 22 years old and I was born and raised in Camarillo, located in Ventura County. It is a very small community in Southern California. I am the first in my family to go to college and transferred here to Sacramento State University Fall 2017.
My story has come full circle, as I was first introduced to my ISA Fall 2017, when I was enrolled in my Learning Community class as being a 1st-semester transfer student in EOP. My greatest achievement in that course is when I was honored with the “Most Inspirational Student” award by my class. Being in an EOP learning community was a great resource and of great support to me. I have learned the tools to write a competitive resume and cover letter; learned appropriate business attire for job interviews; and will soon attend a workshop in which there will be mock interviewing so I can practice professional interviewing skills. Being in this learning community not only gave me the resources required to be successful here at Sac State, but it also connected me to a community of students that I can relate to. We are all learning how to become academically successful! I am proud to be a Sacramento State Hornet….Stingers up!
